To go core or not to go core?

That is the question! Yeah, corny, I know, but I couldn't resist! So anyways, I have been considering trying core for a while now & I thought that I would do it this week. But then I realized something that REALLY needs changed. We usually doing our shopping on Tuesday mornings. I weigh in Tuesday evenings. If I learn about any great products or get any meal ideas, I have to wait a whole week to try them out. This is very hard for me, as I can be a little impatient at times. So we decided to change our shopping day to Wednesday mornings. And also I will try the core plan next week, so that I can shop appropriately.

I can be a little nutty, so I LOVE when things fall into place! Or at least, until I decide to change something else! So has anyone else tried core? What did you think about it? What did you like and dislike about it? And for those of you who have tried flex, what are your opinions about that plan?

Pear Shaped Girl made a great point, when she told me that she lived for comments. And I realize, I do to! It's nice to know that someone is actually reading my little blog & that they care enough to give their opinion.

Core wouldn't work for me...I'm a bulk eater but more importantly family style meals are VERY important to me. (okay now this may sound like an excuse but it's totally true) Any plan that told me that I had to stop eating when I felt satisfied would not work for me while I'm dining with 2 2 year olds. Meals are quick because they need to end quickly upon playing with food or boredom sets in. Quick meals aren't "convenience foods," they are well planned out meals that are within daily points allowance (and maybe some from Flex) that need to be consumed quickly. Or, completed as I'm cleaning up. Get my point?

Maybe some day when the little scientists are done testing gravity and the physics of throwing things Core could work around here. BTW, Brian has yelled at me and asked me not to post this because I'm projecting my values on you. I told him you asked for my opinion! :)

Keep up the good work and effort!

What is freedom to you? The freedom to eat whatever you want so long as you keep track, or the freedom to eat as much as you need without keeping track? What works for me may not work for you. What this whole journey about, other than losing weight it learning about your body. The Core plan delievers the same result as Flex, but does it in a different way.

What you really need to do is examine how you eat, just as much as what. When are you the most hungry? When are you likely to snack? How often do you snack and eat? What are you eating or snacking on when these happen?

In my opinion, once you address these items and learn how to cope with the situations, you'll become successful, which ever plan you choose. In each plan you'll have to still look to these questions before you can truely be successful.

With that being said, I've done both plans many times. I find the flex plan great for losing weight and the core plan for maintaining. When I'm needing to lose weight (I still gain one in a while) I find that the Flex plan is great for keeping me focused and on track. The Core plan is great for me when I'm maintaining and not really paying attention to what I'm eating, but I know all the foods are on the plan. Those that aren't I know I don't exceed the 35 points for those not on the plan.

I'm not really doing either. haha But whatever I'm doing, it is slowly working. I guess I'd call it a modified version of the core plan. Yea, I like that.

And I'm always reading, even if I suck at commenting! We Megs gotta stick together.

And since I just realized I hadn't commented on the post below this one: YAY FOR 14 POUNDS!!! You're awesome!
