I think that your scale can be your best friend (if you are losing weight) or your worst enemy (if you are gaining weight or staying the same weight, when you want to lose weight).
My scale at home is driving me INSANE!!! It's sitting right inside my bedroom door. It's the first thing I see, as I enter my room & the last thing that I see, before I leave my room. It's sitting there, taunting me, "Megan... come stand on me & see if you lost any more weight" Ugh! The past couple of weeks, I have realized that my scale (probably any scale) changes ALL day long. Or rather... my weight fluctuates ALL DAY LONG! So I am making it a goal this week to not step on my scale at all this week. At least until my next ww weigh in. It doesn't matter what that number says anyways. I know that I am eating the way that I should & exercising more & more. My wedding band & engagement ring are already starting to feel really loose. (It makes me nervous, when I swim!) And I can see that I am thinner, in my face. I am fitting into jeans that I haven't been able to wear comfortably for a while now. I am making progress. That scale will do nothing but drive me nuts... so I am not going to let it tempt me anymore.

Put the scale in the closet, or somewhere you won't see it on a regular basis. Also, if you MUST weight yourself other than at WW, make sure to ONLY weight yourself first thing in the morning, after you've gone to the bathroom and in the nude (I don't weigh myself any more, but when I did, I'd do it just before I'd step into the shower in the morning). Good job on focusing on the process goals (eating healthier, exercising more) rather than the outcome goals (weight loss)!
I agree with ashley c. You gotta put that some where else. I can't tell you how many times I yell at my members for that same reason.
"But my scale said I was down."
"Your scale is different from mine."
Don't set yourself up for disappointment. There is going to be the time when you weigh yourself and you're down, and then you get to weigh in and you're up. Just put it away.
Just from friendly advice from your neighborhood WW Leader.
