Getting back on track

Okay. I am now back to the real world & need to get back on program. I have to admit. I didn't track my points at all, the whole time that we were on vacation. I know... it was "bad" to do that. But I did make sure that I watched my portions & made healthy decisions most of the time. I even took one of my exercise balls, so I did anywhere between 200 - 350 crunches every morning. Plus walking during the day & swimming most days. If I allowed myself a treat that I normally wouldn't have, I made sure I did some sort of exercise that evening.

When we got back yesterday, we went to Burger King for lunch (since we hadn't gone to the grocery store yet). I was really tempted to get a burger & fries, but I didn't. I got the Tendergrill chicken salad & iced tea.

I am glad that we came home when we did. It would have been really easy to let old habits slip back into my life. If I go on a vacation again, I will definately write everything down again. It keeps me on track.

My next weigh-in is Thursday & I am very anxious to see how I did. If I even lost .1 lbs, I will be thrilled! My goal was to maintain my weight, while on vacation. And if I did gain, I will not let it get me down.

It's good to have goals even when you're done losing weight. After all the challenge to keep it off never leaves and there will always be goals.

When you're faced with those challenges take the time and plan. Ask yourself, "What do I want to come out of this challenge?" Then you ask "What do I need to do in order get that?"

In your case perhaps, bringing your tracker, Dining out companion or something else, would have been helpful.

Either way, you did good in setting a goal and trying your best to stay with it. Remember that there are four more days until you weigh in ;). If you've gained, accept it and move on.

You can do it.
