The Birthday Aftermath!

I am really proud of myself! I survived my first day on the ww program! I didn't even go over my points (mainly because I had 35 minutes of intense workout today).

It's a start. I think that one of my downfalls in the past, was that I always planned dinners, but never planned lunches. Today, I was so confused about what to fix for lunch. So I definately need to have a really good plan in place for the future.

Back to tonight: It was a really nice evening. I invited all of my family over to celebrate. I love Nate's idea about the hostess cupcakes instead of birthday cake. My husband actually wanted a rasberry filled cake, but I couldn't find any at the store. So I bought a variety cheesecake & everyone was able to get what they wanted. And what was leftover, I sent home with my family, so it's not sitting on the counter, tempting me "Megan, come and eat me".

nice job on the birthday! I tend to not keep a lot of junky food in the house. I know I can have it if I really want it, but I found other satisfying ways of addressing my sweet tooth. I like the chewy granola bars, and one of my recent favorites is chocolate chip rice cakes with a little dab of ff cool whip on it...1 pt and oh so good..:)

If you look back through my blog, you'll notice very little variety on the things I eat for breakfast and lunch. I know some people don't like the "monotony" of that, but it works for me. My first two meals of the day are just fuel. I then usually get creative and have a nice dinner. It works because I use fewer points during the day and have more left for the evenings when I'm usually more hungry and food is available..:)

Thank you! We don't keep junk food around the house either, really. My husband loves chocolate chip cookies & they are always around. Most of the time, it doesn't bother me. My kids always have crackers around, but mostly I am not too tempted. It's really hard for me to say "Okay... I need to eat a couple of snacks today". I definately need to work on that. I think, if I do that, I will be less likely to overeat at dinner or snack late.

Have you ever heard of No Pudge brownies? They can be found in the baking section of the grocery store or perhaps in the organic section. These are a must have for anyone who has a sweet tooth or enjoys a little late night snack (okay, that's when we eat them). On the box there are single serving directions for the MICROWAVE. I'd suggest a generous tablespoon of yogurt (we use vanilla; never have plain on hand). They seem to turn out better this way.

We love No Pudge!
