My First Weight Watchers Meeting

Well, I did it! I went to my very first ww meeting. I was really nervous about it, but as a couple of online supporters told me, it was no sweat!

I am really anxious to really start the program. I have some reading to do, before I can REALLY start the program though.

On a slightly different note, I was pondering different addictions today. I am a former smoker. It was a really hard addiction for me to give up. And I definately fell off of the wagon a few times. It was really rough. I thought that quitting smoking was one of the hardest things for me to do. But I think that I was wrong. I suppose you could say that I have a food addiction. It could be worse, but it's definately not as bad as some. But this is a hard battle to fight. I didn't need to smoke. I just quit cold turkey. But I do need to eat. I can't quit that. I just need to eat in moderation & watch what I do eat.

I stay at home in the mornings with my young sons and that's when I find it the hardest to keep control. It's easy to take a few of their Cheerios and pretty soon those Cheerios turn into a handful. Or, the one Goldfish turns into 20. Or, the peanut butter on their toast turns into the peanut butter on my toast. Keep your journal handy and write down every little thing that enters your mouth. Writing things down helps (or be like Nate and let the whole world know!). You can do this Megan! Brian and I have successfully kept off the weight for almost 3 three years and have completely changed our lifestyle. Post questions about food/brands/low point snacks/whatever and we'll be happy to chim in and let you know what worked for us! Support will make you successful so make sure to go to those meetings every week too. That's where Brian learned much of what we practice now. Good luck and I'm looking forward to reading about your success. (I love these kinds of blogs...I'm almost always guaranteed regular updates! Did I mention that I'm addicted to blogging? Add that to you addiction list :) )
